The Internet allows access to a vast amount of online information and resources that can help enhance the teaching and learning experience. The amount of instructional materials and sharing opportunities available to you on the Web seems endless and is growing on a daily basis. This course will give you the necessary skills to get you off to a great start, but the best attribute of the Internet is when you begin to explore and discover various resources online. CTC TECHNOLOGY PROFICIENCY

Before starting this course, you should be familiar with the basic functions of your computer such as opening and closing windows; creating folders; opening files; and launching and switching between applications. Other skills include the ability to select, cut, copy and paste text, as well as organize files on your computer. If you don't already have these skills, refer to the Basic Computer Skills course. You'll need a browser such as Netscape or Internet Explorer on your computer and a connection to the Internet.

The portfolio requirements for this course include printed responses that document your knowledge, as well as printed Web pages to document your Internet travels. Printed or electronic versions of these responses and Web pages will serve as the deliverables for this course.
